Life On The Road

I have created this blogsite last October 2010 but just recently posted my adventures I had when I was exploring the Philippines. I have been on the road for quite some time from January of 2011 to mid-2012 and just had the time to write my experiences I had for me to share. I’ve been discovering, having a great time wandering, trying new stuff and it all happened within my homeland, THE PHILIPPINES.

Most of my time have been spent waiting on queues, on the road, waiting for schedules or flights but I never had regrets even though those were considered a dead time. Instead, I went out, opened my backpack, and pointed the lenses of my bloggie/ digital camera and took images.

Even though, I have spent all my savings I had in my bank account or wallet but the memories I have during my trips were priceless. I may have traveled to different provinces alone but I got to meet new faces, had friendly conversations, and learnt how they live their lives as locals.

Here are the images I captured during the days when my life was mostly spent on the road.

Festivities in the Philippines: Kaamulan Festival 2011

During my visit in Malaybalay, Bukidnon, it was also the time wherein they were celebrating Kaamulan Festival which is the gathering of tribes all over the province of Bukidnon. This happened way back 2011 when I came to visit my friend who lives there. The streets were decorated with colorful banderitas. The place was lively and you can see the excitement and enthusiasm in every person you see on the street. Everyone headed to Kaamulan Grounds where the center of the celebration took place. It was definitely jam-packed. There were stalls placed just outside the stage selling different handmade products by tribes. I can barely moved by thousands of people celebrating the festivities. The activities started in the morning and ended late at night. Everybody had fun. After the activities, people went to bars to morning the night with booze and danced the night away. I will surely keep the memories I had during the Kaamulan Festival, it was cool and had so much fun.

Food Basket of Mindanao

I visited Bukidnon to meet a long unseen friend who is a local resident of the province. I traveled a long, long way from Manolo Fortich to Dahilayan to Malaybalay to Maramag to Dangcagan to Kibawe. If I have known that Kibawe is almost the boundary to North Cotabato, I should have gone to Kidapawan City.

Anyway, in Bukidnon, I’ve been to Dahilayan Adventure Park and headed to Malaybalay City.

After, I arrived at Malaybalay, my friend told me that she will take me to one of the resorts in Bukidnon and that is RR Family Spring Resort which is located in Maramag, a 3-hour travel by bus from Malaybalay City. When we set foot on the resort, I was amazed for this is the only resort I’ve seen so far that has a lot of swimming pools. If I am not mistaken, they were around 9 swimming pools. But I only tried the 5.5 feet deep pool since I know now how to swim recently. I love it there.

I’m going to miss this kind of trip with my friend.
