BKK or known as Suvarnabhumi International Airport is located in Bangkok, Thailand. It is the main gateway of the Kingdom of Thailand. It serves a lot of international airline companies from/ to Bangkok. It is big, spacious and clean. For easy accessibility, it even has an airport train link from the city centre which is also connected to subway (MRT), Silom line, and BTS/ Skytrain.
Though I traveled through an airport transfer service from the hotel, it took about 30-45 mins drive from Sukhumvit Soi 30/1 area. The road going there was smooth. Bangkok may be known as one of the busiest cities but their highways are wide. You will know you are near if you will see this blue light sign.
When I got there, the gates were ginormous. The counters were assigned from A to Z serving different airline carriers around the world. There were seats everywhere and to add more attention to the airports were orchids fully bloomed and beautiful. There were also statues that symbolized Thailand.
You can check if the check-in counter of your airline company is starting to accept passengers for issuing boarding passes thru this Samsung big screen. I just got my boarding pass and went up to the second floor for security check for my hand carry bag. It was smooth but the airport personnel were more strict compared to SGN and MNL airports. A bottled water can pass thru the security check in other airports but in BKK it wasn’t allowed.
After the security check, you will go downstairs for passport control. The queue was long but not to worry coz there were a lot of counters to assist you. Once you are done in immigration counter, you will head to your boarding gate. Going to your boarding gate, you will see a lot of stores. You will be amused of the fish interaction which was installed near the toilet.
The gates were well designed, well organized and very roomy. You can even sleep there. I saw a lot of travelers sleeping in the airport. But I have only one issue with BKK, I was having hard time to connect with their wi-fi connection. The price also of products being sold in the airport were expensive. I got my dinner in Firm Meal for THB150. But I think that was normal.
To summarize it, BKK is an amazing airport equipped with all the facilities needed for any traveler utilizing it. There maybe negative points but definitely the good things far outweigh the negative.
Few hours later, I boarded the plane to get me back to my home country and that ended my Southeast Asian trip. Thanks for following and reading my SEA adventures.
Anyway, today is May 1st and in the Philippines, it is a non-working holiday. Happy Labor Day to all Filipinos out there! Enjoy a day-off and take a quick vacation anywhere.
